Fair-Use & Anti-Scraping Policy
Rate limits and daily pass quotas that keep RecordsRegister.com fast, affordable, and protected against automated bulk bots.
1. Purpose of Our Fair-Use Policy
RecordsRegister.com offers low, one-time personal research pricing (including our 30-Day Unlimited Member Pass) for individual consumers, genealogists, and researchers. Our Fair-Use Policy ensures that automated scrapers, commercial data resellers, and shared-credential rings cannot degrade database performance or harvest public index abstracts in bulk.
2. Automated Per-Minute & Daily Quotas
All visitor sessions and active 30-Day Member Pass codes (`RR-PASS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX`) are governed by real-time rate-limiting buckets displayed below. When a daily pass quota is reached, the counter resets automatically at 12:00 AM UTC.
3. Strictly Prohibited Activities
• Sharing, posting, or reselling a 30-Day Member Pass Code across multiple users or websites.
• Running automated scripts, bots, headless browsers, or curl/python scrapers against `/api/search`, `/report.php`, or `/records/...` directory pages.
• Attempting brute-force enumeration of Order Codes (`RR-2026-...`) or Member Pass Codes (`RR-PASS-...`).
4. Enforcement & Pass Suspension
Sessions that exceed per-minute rate limits receive a temporary `HTTP 429` cooldown notice. Pass codes used for automated scraping or public credential sharing may be permanently revoked by our Executive Management Console without refund.
